Not too big, even for a short minifig. There's a bar on the back for minifigs to hold on. The open stud on the front allows for all sorts of customization. In multiple areas, the edge of the shield is thick enough to be held in a minifig hand.
I'd even say this is more than a shield, really. I could see buying it in bulk to make a rickety bridge or even an entire floor!
Orcs... everybody loves them, but how do you protect them? Well, these shields are a good way to start.
Large wooded shield like I would expect to see in a woodland encounter with an ogre! Goes great with the 2 headed armor.
