There are many things that a Roman soldier had to wear before heading into battle. But if he was ever caught dead without his Roman skirt, he would literally be dead...from embarrassment of not matching the rest of the troops. And the leather straps did provide some pretty important protection if you know what I mean.
If the BW team allows, I will only paste my comment from another 'skirt', since it's applicable here as well : Unfortunately, I expected the skirt to be outlining leg piece and going over the two studs (which would be a flawless attachment btw!), but I found out this piece only snaps to legs and can easily fall off so any minor movement can disrupt it. I do understand that the purpose is more for display than playing, but its loose state can only make you scared and annoyed. Product is overal good - just be aware of its nature! :)

The design of the piece is really good looking, however it is difficult to keep it attached to minifigures. If you attempt to move the minifigure to a different position or detach other pieces, the Roman Skirt will "pop off." It is also difficult to put the skirt on in the first place. This piece is great for display purposes but lacks in the assembly area.
Love them looks real good on my Romans need more.
I have rated all of the clip on products for legs and have the same problem with them all. They just have issues staying on unless armor is pinning them down. I think if you look at a bracket in between the torso and legs you would knock these out of the park.
