I avoided these for a while, not sure what I'd do with them. But then I broke down and ordered a few colors during my last order, and they do indeed work well as foliage, or as wacky staves for druids or wizards, and the black ones work well as barbed whips for devils and monsters. The ends can't really connect to anything, but the hand-grip portion can be attached to other pieces with 'claw' ends, or just draped over scenery.
