Secutor gladiators were often pitted against retiarius, which were gladiators who used tridents and nets. A helmet with spikes and horns would get a LEGO® gladiator caught in the net, and large eye holes would make them susceptible to the trident, so this helmet was developed to be nice and smooth and have tiny little eye holes.
