Beautiful piece. I'm not much on historical items,. but even so, this finds use in my modern and futuristic military sets, as well as making an excellent heavy piece for vehicles and walking 'mechs.
I do think this is a nice model and great for Japanese figures but the gun itself isn't actually Japanese! It's French, it's a Hotchkiss WW1 Machine gun that France used. You can tell by the straight clip which they had to use rather then a belt feeding system. It was licensed to Japan and they made theirs so it fired their ammo rather then the French ammo. Japan called it the "Type 3 Heavy Machine gun". So not exactly right but not wrong. Usable for either <3
It's so rare to find a good replica of Japanese guns for Lego figures, to say nothing of Heavier weapons. this weapon will fit snugly into any Pacific display, and the retro look of the design will also lend itself to "raygun gothic" Sci-Fi displays
