Posted by Merrie on 13th Jul 2017

We have recently featured a lot of 20th Century combat-accessories, and today is no exception! Instagram user legoinww2 created this great scene of the Battle of Ypres. If you like this type of MOC, Legoinww2 regularly features fantastic battle scenes from both World Wars. Front and center is a soldier donning our Adrian Helmet. Here's what the creator had to say about this scene:

"Battle of Ypres was the last great battle of 1914, which took place between 19 October and 22 November.
In October, the offensive on the Western front stopped because of the great German defeats and logistical problems of the German army. The Allied and German armies tried to flank each other (the stage known as Race to the Sea). In the face of this situation, the German High Command decided to launch a final major offensive in the Flanders region of Belgium to use the newly-recruited German troops, the purpose of this offensive was to break the allied front line.
At the end of the two-month battle the Germans withdrew from Ypres. The Allies suffered heavy casualties, the Battle of Ypres is remembered in the UK as the battle that consumed the fighting power of the BEF.
