LEGO Gun of the Week - Vz. 61 Škorpion by Cole Edmonson

Posted by Merrie on 25th Jul 2017

After writing this blog for almost five months, I am really surprised to have only just come across this LEGO Gun by Flickr user Cole Edmonson; that wouldn't be odd at all if this superior build hadn't been submitted to the site almost 6 years ago! But discover it, I have. So let's take a look at this beauty. The following description comes from the builder:

"Developed in former Czechoslovakia as a personal defense weapon for security personnel and armored vehicle crews, the Samopal Vzor 61 Škorpion is a compact submachine gun/machine pistol that fires the .32 ACP cartridge at a rate of 850 rounds per minute.

Having just finished my Mauser 98k model, I was looking for a small, modern weapon that I could construct in the short amount of time before the upcoming BrickCon 2011 convention and chose to rebuild my Škorpion model; my previous version was built a few years back when I was still new at building weapons and was the first gun that I built with advanced measurement-taking techniques. While more realistic than any of the guns I had previously built, the replica was very fragile and prone to breaking when the trigger was pulled. My new model incorporates all the positive features that the old version did and features multiple improvements, such as a stronger trigger-assembly, better-curved magazine, opening/closing ejection port, moving fire-selector switch, and more durable pistol grip.

Overall Dimensions: 10.75" long (stock folded); 20.75" long (stock extended); 6.5" high; ~2" wide. Total weight: 0.69 lbs. First completed on September 7, 2011."

WARNING - Choking Hazard, Small Pieces. Not for children under 3.
