Custom LEGO Helmet Spotlight - Adrian Helmet

It's funny what can be created out of necessity; that's how the Adrian Helmet came to be. With French forces embroiled in the trench warfare of World War I, head wounds from shrapnel was taking a massive toll on the soldiers. So they developed the Adrian Helmet to protect against this form of attack, even including a crest along the top of the helmet to deflect any shrapnel falling from above. What's curious is that the helmet was not designed to protect against bullets, though the cost of manufacturing aligned with the general effectiveness of the helmet, and therefore it was widely used. But it's roots remain in France and is generally emblematic of French forces of the era. As such, it goes hand-in-hand with the French SuspendersFrench RifleFrench SMG, and French LMG pictured below.
