Not quite a rifle (the barrel is typically shorter) and clearly not a pistol, these medium-size guns were issued to Commando's conducting special operations where equipment couldn't weigh them down, but needed something with some snarl, accuracy and velocity. With the built-in silencer on the end of the Commando Carbine, this bad boy did the trick for soldiers in WWII. Even if that hat was questionable at best.
