This is a great shield design for your Polybian-Maniples Legionaries. The addition of the clip on the inside for the Pilum is a neat item that helps completes the overall appearance of a typical Roman-Republican soldier. If you have the knack for miniature painting, various Roman Republican shield art-styles and patterns can make your Legionary minifigs quite unique. 10/10. You should make a late design of the Imperial Scutum that many are familiar with from films like Gladiator and the Eagle.

This is my favourite brick warrior piece. The clip makes it easy to hold a pilum. The piece is realistic for a Roman republic shield however I would prefer the pattern to be more detailed. It is still my favourite brick warriors piece.
This shield is amazing for your Roman legionnaires and other members of your legion. great for holding a Pilum for an enemy charge, or for holding a Gladius for close quarters combat. I highly recommend it for your army.
This is my very favorite piece in my Lego collection. Its useful for Roman soldiers, yes, but beyond that it is useful for everybody at your ancient world throwdown. Its perfect for anybody who used a big tower shield back in the day--Latins, Celts, Germans, Spaniards, Canaanites, Israelites, Philistines, Egyptians, Sumerians, Babylonians, Persians, Carthaginians...you get the idea. I'm sure at some
point even a hipster Greek carried one to be ironic. My point is, if you have a warrior who needs to defend himself, the best way is with an enormous plank of wood. It also comes with a little weapon holder so your warrior can bring two weapons to a battle.

The shield looks great and holds on to spears well. The shield however doesn't fit the Lego figure hand all that great. It slips off too easily or falls off the hand with little force!
Size is realistic. Love the color choices too
I use this scutum for legionaries in my next MOC and it's a great idea to add a clip for the pilum.
