LEGO MOC of the Week - Battle of Lechfeld 955 AD by Hunter Erickson

14th Apr 2016

This week's featured MOC is based on a historic battle between East Francia (medieval Germany) and the Hungarians in 955 AD called the Battle of Lechfeld. The Germans, led by King Otto I had a decisive victory over the invading Hungarians. In fact, King Otto's victory here and ability to rally the Germans led to him being crowned Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire by the Pope in 962.

You can see Otto the Great leading his troops from his horse in the middle of this scene. The Germans are coming from the left and the Hungarians from the right. Front and center, next to the white flowers, you can see a German soldier with a BrickWarriors Gladiator Axe in his hand attacking a Hungarian wearing a brown BrickWarriors Goblin Helmet

MOC creater Hunter Erickson makes a lot of military scenes with his LEGO, and you can see more on his Flickr page
