Custom LEGO Minifigure of the Week - King Harald "Bluetooth" of Denmark by George Adamidis

18th Oct 2016

I don't think King Harald had the current idea of bluetooth in mind when he earned his nickname but I'm certain he wasn't interested in such future technologies because this whole fighting and killing thing seems to have worked out well for him. This fearsome Viking warrior is presented to us by George Adamidis (also to be found under Custom BrickWorks on Flickr), and features a breathtaking paint job all around. Starting from the top down, the Viking Helmet features a metallic finish with a realistic set of Moose Antlers. He's rounded out with a Viking Armor decked out in both gold plates and leather straps and his signature blue shoulders (so that's how he got his name!). The Viking Axe and Crescent Axe he wields are both frighteningly touched up to be a split between wooden handle and bladed top, but I must direct your attention to the Viking Shield. It's edged in a metallic element as was typical of the time with a wooden face, but OH MY GOD THE BLOOD SPATTER. Masterful job by the artist there! Why would anyone ever face down this guy!? Whoever did... well, he never longer lives. Incredible build!
