Swirl Identification Guide and new Names

Postby Cmorgenweck » Mon May 21, 2012 6:25 pm

Alright, I was bored today and thought of a reseller for many 3rd party accessory companies and how they called some swirled prototypes the "Lando Swirl". Well I wanted to identify some BrickWarriors gun swirls and come up with names for them and how to tell if they are. This is part one.

Image

The Sapphire Swirl. To tell if it is a sapphire swirl, your gun must have one of the following mixtures of colors:

1: Blue, White, light blue.
2: Blue, Light Grey, and light blue.
3: Blue, White, Light Grey.

Image

Rusted Silver (Named by Thrash) To tell if it is a Rusted Silver Swirl, your gun must have one of the following mixtures of colors:

1: Goldish-brown, Silver.

Image

Black Mag To tell if your gun is a Black Mag Swirl it must have just swirls in the mag area. This is one of the rarer swirls.

Image

CLAY (Named by Rinzler) To tell if your gun is a CLAY Swirl, your gun must have one of the following mixtures of colors:

1: Black, Gold, Orange.
2: Black, Orange.
3: Brown, Orange.
4: Brown, Orange, Gold.
5: Orange, Gold.

Image

Alien Alien swirl is a special and extremely rare swirl. Alien swirl is a swirled gun with five or more colors.

Image

QuickSilver (Named by Thrash)To tell if your gun is a QuickSilver swirl, your gun must have one of the following mixtures:

1: Steel, Black.
2: Silver, Black.

Image

Desert Camo To tell if your gun is a Desert Camo swirl, your gun must have one of the following mixtures:

1: Brown, Dark Tan, Light Tan, Dark Orange, Dark Grey.
2: Brown, Dark Tan, Light Tan, Dark Orange.
3: Brown, Dark Tan, Light Tan.
4: Brown, Dark Tan, Dark Orange, Dark Grey.
5: Brown, Light Tan, Dark Orange, Dark Grey.
6: Light Tan, Dark Tan, Dark Orange, Dark Grey.
7: Light Tan, Dark Tan, Dark Orange.
8: Brown, Dark Orange, Dark Grey.

Basically, any of those colors, but at least 3 different ones.

Image

Muddy Sand To Tell if your gun is Muddy Sand swirled, your gun must have one of the following mixtures of colors:

1: Tan, Grey, Dark Tan.
2: Tan, Grey.
3: Tan, Dark Tan.

Image

Red Heat (Named by Thrash) To tell if your gun is Red Heat swirled, your gun must have one of the following swirls:

1: Red, White, Orange.
2: Red, White.
3: Red, Orange.

Image

Cloudy Sky To tell if you have a Cloudy Sky swirled gun, your gun must have one of the following swirls:

1: White, Blue, Dark Blue, Light Blue.
2: White, Blue, Dark Blue.
3: White, Blue, Light Blue.
4: White, Light Blue, Dark Blue.

Image

Light Rust Light Rust is like Rusted Silver, only it has more rust than silver in it, and it must be on a light color.

Image

Over-Molded Over-Molded is not swirled, it is often a gun that takes TWO injections to make. It depends on how it was made, though. I believe Thrash does it by hand. To do that, you must mold the gun in one color, cut off the parts on it that you want over-molded, put it make in the mold, and then mold in a different color, but it will only fill the cut off parts of the gun.

Thanks for reading, this was so much fun to make :D

Thanks for putting this together! With all the swirls I did for BrickMagic you'll probably need to expand the list though.

Rotten Carrot sounds pretty disgusting...any ideas for alternate names of those?

Ah, I was wondering what my ABR prototype was called. ;) (It's muddy sand)
Why bother to read this? It appears at the end of every post I make, so I'm sure it gets boring.

Neat review, dude!
Maybe instead of Rotten Carrot, you could say "Clay" instead.
Since clay is a mixture of black and orange sometimes.
I got this.
