"Nearing the end of our second day out, we came upon the border of the CA territory. Instead of making camp here along the neutral zone between the two yerritories, we continued on and would make camp once we could find a secluded spot insdie the CA's lands. And it just so happened that at the exact spot we crossed the border, that we came upon a trio of CA drones, most liekly patroling the border. They used the crumbling, makeshift wall dividing the two territories as cover until their internnal sensors told them that we were hostiles.
This was assisted by Taz firing his sniper rifle from an overlook and blasting the arm off one of the drones behind the wall. The bronzing robot screeched, sparks and oil spurting from its arm socket. The other two drones moved from their cover and charged us head on.
It was an intense firefight. One of the other drones was taken down easily by our bullets, trailing an arc of green sparks as it collaped to the grit, its gears grinding.
The remaining drone was obviously a commander of sorts, for it raised some sort of energy shield as it rounded the ruined wall, spraying us with blue fire from its weapoinized arms.
Luckily our bio0armor protected us. Brian and Taz were able to sneak behind it while Amanda and I distracted it with gunfire. It fell face first into the dry earth, sputtering a few times before its head exploded in one heck of a fireworks display.
And once again, as the sound of our gunfire and the screeching drones faded away, we reutnred to the errie silence of the wastes...
...and crossed into CA territory..."
