Honestly, at first I was not a fan of this...it's sort of an ambiguous design, with elements from the RPD, and Saiga shotgun, but to be honest, it's better that way, because it's whatever you want it to be, plus;

Look at the end of that barrel, who could say no to that muzzle? No seriously, try to say no without "please don't" immediately following it, plus a ton of crying and blubbering for your mother. It's definitely got a villainous feel to it, which is something not offered by any other customizers currently.
ABP, Austrian Bull Pup/Hooligan Hat

Apologies for the poor quality picture, but I had to show how much of a vast improvement the production item is over the prototype. The butt sits firmly in the crook of the minifig's arm, although the trigger guard limits posing somewhat, but the forgrip is grippable, and allows for this super awesome pose:

So check that hotness out, simply popping out the arm with the firing hand and having it grip the foregrip and manipulating the hand positions gives it a shouldered look and generally looks amazing. The hooligan hat fills a number of roles, such as irish gangsters, or even as a driving cap. It was something I never really expected to see, but it looks awesome for henchmen.
Cobra SMG

This Sten gun inspired item, while nice looking, is somewhat lacking in posing options. The charging handle and other details are great, but it can only really be held in a firing pose at the hip, and doesn't really work as well for infiltrator-type minifigs as the SF SMG, so it's a bit limited, although it would be perfect for ww2 commandos.
Desert Vulture

Finally, the Desert "whatever bird it doesn't really matter because this gun is awesome" is available in minifig scale! It's a huge heavy hitting looking pistol you could see someone blowing another minifig away with or smashing the butt of the gun into their faces.

This was by far one of my favorite items from this release, and it looks great in steel as well. Not much else I can say about this that the pictures don't, get one!
German 38

This item is obviously based off the P38 from the axis powers in ww2, and is a perfectly shaped and scaled representation of that weapon. WW2 isn't my favorite theme, but this is a must have for any of those builders. I especially like that the shape of the pistol is still very faithful to the real weapon while still being minifig compatable.
French Assault Rifle

It's pretty safe to say Thrash has mastered the bullpup design, with this nice little surprise. The french assault rifle is inspired by the FAMAS assault rifle, seen mostly in video games and used by the french army. It's packed with details and has a futuristic look to it.

In this side detail shot you can see all the detail of the fore grip and the magazine/reciever detailing is still intact even after being shrunk down and abstracted.
Military vest/Adaptive Warrior Rifle/Cestus/Time bomb

The military vest is a medium-sized tactical vest with details like magazine pouches, quick release snaps, and straps running on both sides and misc pouches on the other side. Also, there is an open stud on the reverse side that perfectly matches a Lego stud.

I see it as both body armor and magazine pouches/web gear put together. The AWR, which we've already seen prototyped incorporates all the details of the Remington ACR from which this was inspired, and the stock is grippable and seems to be a huge improvement over the prototype, which I assume is mostly due to the quality cuts of the production mold. It's sleek and futuristic while still being modern looking.

And here you can see the cestus, the spiked knuckle weapon which is easily one of the coolest things to happen to minifig's hands in a long time, and the time bomb strapped to the stud on the back of the military vest. Obviously, this means that there is a recessed hole in the back of the time bomb that fits perfectly on a lego stud.

And last shot is placing the time bomb on a lego stud and showing an alternate grip point of the AWR.
Overall, this was a very surprising and satisfying release, although I'm definitely missing the spy pistol, WWS and baby vulture, which were some of my most anticipated items. I have to say though one gripe I have is the size of the trigger guards, which make it difficult to turn the weapons in the minifig's hands.
This new release is a must have for fans of BW and apoc/fantasy/modern builders. In the future I'd love to see some sci-fi armor and weapons, but for there's plenty here to hold us over until then, and also the fantasy era items will go great with the LOTR sets mentioned earlier when they get released later this year.
